Amy Sturdevant made a motion to allow guests, scouts, bingo and fund raising activities to resume at the Cedar City Elks Lodge. It was voted on and passed by members in attendance.
Connel Gower announced the current offers for the sale of the Lodge property. The first offer was from Cedar City Corporation for $221,000, which was substantially less than the listed price. The second offer was full price but no letterhead or phone number was attached to the offer, and there were several contingencies attached with the offer. Connel recommended we pass on the 2 offers and keep the property listed at the current price. Kari Davis made a motion to reject the offers and keep the property on the market. All members present voted favorably on this motion.

Community Activities: Jon Bauer reported on the New Years Eve party. 110 people attended - great food, great music and a many great compliments. He gave a big thank you to all his committee members and those who helped with the party.
Trustees Report: Trustees met on January 13th to review the bills; waiting on Lodge approval.
House Committee: House Committee met on January 13th to review the bills; waiting on Lodge approval. House committee has Dueling Pianos set for February 11th. They are trying to organize a dinner before the event to correlate with Valentines Day. House Committee is planning to have a late afternoon dinner on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Other Committees: Lynn Davis reported on Food Baskets. We filled 69 boxes of food this year. Unable to deliver 4 of the boxes, so 3 went to the Women's Crisis Center. The cost was approximately $1600. Angie Slack was presented with a plaque from the Cedar City Police Department for her great service to Shop with a Cop. Great job, Angie. Jeri Smith reported on Hoop Shoot, which was January 11th at Canyon View Middle School. Everything went very well, & she wants to thank all those who helped her. Maylee Spencer, who is 12-13 year old from Cedar City, will go onto State Hoop Shoot in Provo. Meryl Arns reported on District Deputy South vote which will be Sunday, January 19th, in Provo. He encouraged anyone who is a PER to run for this position. Meryl Arns made a motion to send notification to all members regarding a By-Law change for Fees and Dues to be increased. Vote will take place on February 5, 2020 at regular Lodge meeting at 7:00 p.m. Marlene Brackin seconded the motion.

Lynn Davis is diligently working on getting the names of families in need this year for Christmas boxes. He would like a minimum of 50 names. We will wrap boxes after next Lodge meeting on December 18th. We will fill the boxes on December 23rd and deliver them on December 24th.
Chocolates for Widows are ready for delivery. They are in the copy room if you are interested in helping to deliver them.

- Charity Ball/Christmas Costume Party will be December 14, 2019 at 7:00 with dinner, music, and a raffle.
- Paint Nite will be December 21, 2019 at 6:00 pm.
- District Hoop Shoot will be January 11, 2020 at Canyon View Middle School at 11:00 am. Lunch will be served at the Lodge directly after the event.

Sickness and Distress: Bob Tuckett has been sick for 2 weeks; Marlene Brackin's great grandson passed away; Terry Horvath's son passed away.

Nine candidates were voted on favorably.
2020 Mesquite Elks Golf Classic will be February 17, 18, and 19, 2020. Applications are available from the Lodge Secretary.
Notice from the Grand Lodge that total per capita for Grand Lodge, Elks Magazine, and insurance will be $19.00 per member. The increase is due to an increase in insurance premiums.
Amy Smith rescinded her resignation as Secretary. Meryl Arns nominated Amy Smith for Secretary, Kay Davis closed the nomination, and Angie Slack seconded the motion.
Annette Hansen received a Certificate of Appreciation for the ENF donation for this past year.
Paint Nite will be December 21, 2019 at 6:00 pm.

Sickness and Distress: Annette Hansen has an arm injury.
House committee has determined that because of the increase in food costs, there should be a 50 cent charge for bacon on all burgers purchased. This increase will go into effect on the first Thursday of November.

Deer Hunters Ball went very well. It was well attended, and the bar did great!! Halloween Party is October 26th at 8:00 pm. $5.00 at the door with music and a potluck.
MaryAlice Johnson addressed the Lodge and thanked us for having her with greetings from Bob Duetsman. She gave a donation to the ENF.
